To ensure there are no extra costs we advise checking the following requirements for electric cooker/oven/hob installation. If you're unsure how to make the checks or the requirements are not met, not a problem, but it may cost more than our set prices to get you up and running.
If you're unsure of any requirements please don't hesitate to ask.
Before you book: |

Do you have a gas appliance? If you're switching from a gas appliance or switching to a dual fuel appliance you may need a Gas Safe engineer to disconnect/connect your appliance before installation of your electric cooker/oven/hob. We will not be able to assist with any gas connections or disconnections. |
Switch You'll need a cooker switch (usually a large red or white switch located within 2m of the cooking appliance). |
Connection point If your electric cooker requires hardwiring a connection point is required (usually a blank white plastic cover with a hole at the bottom, on the wall, nearby the cooker) unless the cooker switch is mounted on a pattress box and we can wire into that or if there is an adequate cable already installed. |
Model number To ensure we install your appliance in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations let us know what the model number is of your new appliance (usually on the frame inside a door/under the hob or online in the description if you've bought a brand new appliance). |
Circuit breaker Please let us know the rating of the cooker circuit breaker. This can be found at your distribution board (a.k.a fuse board or consumer unit). Many varieties exist but a common rating for cooker circuit breakers is "B32" and this information is usually above or below the switch for that circuit. If you do not have a dedicated cooker circuit please contact us to discuss. |
The "hot zone" The hot zone applies to hobs and cookers with hobs. There must not be any combustible materials (cupboards, switches, sockets, extractor hoods etc) within the hot zone which is 650mm (26") above the hob surface and 100mm (4") horizontally. |
Spacing Please make sure your new cooker fits into the space / your new hob has the right size cut out of the worktop. Cutting or altering your units is not included in the set price. We may be able to cut a bigger hole if needed to install a new hob, etc but please contact us for pricing if required. |
